A new phase of Mission Ocean cooperation across Atlantic and Arctic is beginning with BlueMissionAA2030

Europe’s Atlantic and Arctic regions are entering a new phase of coordinated ocean action with the launch of BlueMissionAA2030 (ID 101295886), a Horizon Europe project designed to advance the EU Mission “Restore our Ocean and Waters by 2030” goals across both basins. Partners will meet on 1 & 2 October in Dublin to begin a five‑year programme focused on building coherent, participatory governance and monitoring frameworks, mobilising financing, and scaling innovative solutions across the Atlantic-Arctic region.

BlueMissionAA2030 builds on the foundations of BlueMissionAA, the Mission Ocean coordination hub for the Atlantic and Arctic led by the AIR Centre from November 2022 to October 2025. That hub helped organise basin‑level cooperation, connect regional actors and support Mission Ocean implementation across two sea basins.

In this new project, the AIR Centre will take on a strategic role in aligning basin‑scale activities, facilitating cooperation between regional authorities and scientific partners, and supporting the development of shared approaches that can be applied across both the Atlantic and Arctic.

The Kick‑off meeting will set the direction for this next phase, bringing partners together to coordinate priorities and launch the project’s first joint actions.
