He always expressed a desire to visit the Azores, and this wish came true when he traveled to Terceira Island as a guest speaker at the last edition of the ‘Atlantic Innovation Week’ in April 2023, where he discussed the 'Turquoise Economy’. He was so thrilled to stay in a Turquoise room hotel and humorously concluded his presentation with a picture of his hotel room. Typical of Thierry's wit and sense of humour. As we remember Professor Chopin, we celebrate his contributions to science and his unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship. His innovative spirit and dedication to sustainable aquaculture will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
