JuliaEO26 welcomes leading InSAR expert Jingyi "Ann" Chen

The JuliaEO Global Workshop 2026, currently underway in Angra do Heroísmo, Azores, welcomed Jingyi "Ann" Chen as an invited speaker, delivering an expert session on Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) technology.

Ann Chen leads the Radar Interferometry Group at the Center for Space Research, The University of Texas at Austin, with over 15 years of experience in SAR/InSAR algorithm development. Her research focuses on advanced InSAR techniques for studying seismicity, groundwater dynamics, natural hazards, and permafrost processes.

At JuliaEO26, Chen delivered a comprehensive lecture on InSAR theory and interferogram processing, followed by a hands-on workshop. This combination provided participants with both theoretical foundations and practical experience in state-of-the-art radar Earth observation techniques. An inspiring and highly valuable contribution to JuliaEO26, advancing the workshop's mission to strengthen Earth observation capabilities.

The JuliaEO Global Workshop 2026, organized by the AIR Centre with support from FLAD – Fundação Luso-Americana para o Desenvolvimento and Câmara Municipal de Angra do Heroísmo, continues through January 9, 2026.
