Open Call for the Atlantic Whale Deal Workshop on Marine Animal Movement Analysis

The Atlantic Whale Deal is supporting a Workshop on Marine Animal Movement Analysis that will take place on May 19-23 in Madeira. The workshop will be offering a unique opportunity to examine movement data processing and analysis stages under the guidance of the leading researchers - John Fieberg, Marie Auger-Méthé, Brett McClintock and Inês Silva. This initiative focuses on the adoption of advanced methods and its integration within the scientific community for studying animal movement within marine ecology. It aims to provide the participants with cutting-edge techniques for analysing movement data, including State Space Models, enhance understanding of marine species’ movement, analysing stages while fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge exchange. During five days, the participants will be able to explore research, methodologies and applications in animal movement. The target audience is PhD students and researchers with experience in the areas of animal movement and marine environment. This initiative is endorsed by the UN Ocean Decade and organized by MARE-Madeira, ARDITI – Regional Agency for the Research Development, Technology and Innovation, Oceanic Observatory of Madeira, Project LA_ARNET and University of Madeira – UMa.
