Atlantic Aquaculture International Conference (AAIC23)

The 1st edition of the Atlantic Aquaculture International Conference (AAIC23) is going to be held in Brazil. This conference is organised under the EU Horizon 2020 project ASTRAL Project and the AIR Centre is excited to organise it together with ASTRAL Project's partners. AAIC23 is an event that will bring together PhD students, early career scientists and regional and world experts to exchange experiences, present new technologies, and discuss current and relevant topics in aquaculture. AAIC23 will be a presential event jointly organised with the Brazilian Congress of Aquaculture and Aquatic Biology (X Aquaciência) from April 10 to 14, 2023 at the Convention Center – CentroSul- in Florianopolis, Brazil. This joint conference with a national and international focus aims to promote the exchange of knowledge and promotion of sustainable aquaculture in the North and South Atlantic. Meeting with the Hon Consul‑General of the Kingdom of Tonga strengthens dialogue on ocean science and climate cooperation

On 2 July, the AIR Centre hosted a meeting at its Lisbon office with the Comendador Anthony Bailey, Honourable Consul-General of His Majesty The King of Tonga to the Portuguese Republic. The discussion brought together AIR Centre Executive Director Miguel Miranda, Deputy Executive Director Mafalda Carapuço, and researcher Ana Faria, marking the beginning of a promising dialogue between the two nations.
