BioProtect Open Call: €100,000 Grants for Marine Conservation Innovation

BioProtect is offering five grants of €100,000 each to help European regions protect their marine environments. The program aims to support local authorities in better managing and protecting their coastal areas.

Selected regions will receive:

  • Advanced tools for marine planning and conservation
  • Expert technical support and training
  • Resources for engaging local communities
  • Support in developing conservation plans

Who can apply?

  • Local and regional authorities from EU Member States
  • EU overseas territories
  • Countries associated with the Horizon Europe Programme
  • Applications must include a local/regional authority

The program offers practical tools to help regions:

  • Identify important conservation areas
  • Balance environmental protection with economic activities
  • Improve marine spatial planning
  • Work towards conservation targets

Each selected region will work closely with expert demonstration sites and receive personalized support throughout the project.

The Call closes on 1st January 2025 – 23:59 CET.
