Copernicus Awareness and Training event for maritime sectors | South America Edition

The AIR Centre, in collaboration with the Portuguese Space Agency, IHCantabria, and INTA, is organizing an online awareness and training workshop focused on the maritime sectors in South America - Ports, Fisheries and Aquaculture, within the framework of the FPCUP (Framework Partnership Agreement on Copernicus User Uptake). The event will take place on May 28, 2025, from 15:00 to 19:00 WEST, with simultaneous interpretation in Spanish and English, ensuring accessibility for participants across the region. The event will include an introduction to the Copernicus Programme and the Copernicus Marine Service (CMEMS), followed by an overview of available platforms and data access tools. The second half of the session will be dedicated to hands-on training, featuring selected use cases relevant to the South American context and demonstrating practical applications of Copernicus data in the maritime domain.

El AIR Centre, en colaboración con la Agencia Espacial Portuguesa, IHCantabria e INTA, está organizando un taller en línea de sensibilización y capacitación enfocado en el sector marítimo en América del Sur - puertos, pesca y acuicultura en el marco del FPCUP (Framework Partnership Agreement on Copernicus User Uptake). El evento tendrá lugar el 28 de mayo de 2025, de 15:00 a 19:00 WEST, con interpretación simultánea en español e inglés, para facilitar la participación desde toda la región. El evento incluirá una introducción al programa Copernicus y al Servicio Marino de Copernicus (CMEMS), seguida de una presentación de las plataformas disponibles y herramientas para el acceso a los datos. La segunda parte de la sesión estará dedicada a una capacitación práctica, con casos de uso seleccionados y relevantes para el contexto sudamericano, mostrando aplicaciones concretas de los datos Copernicus en el ámbito marítimo.

Meeting with the Hon Consul‑General of the Kingdom of Tonga strengthens dialogue on ocean science and climate cooperation
