International Marine Science Conference Highlights Climate Change Impacts

The 7th Fortaleza Austral Spring School - International Spring School of Marine Science (INSPIRE) successfully convened from November 12-14, bringing together over 100 international participants from Argentina, Egypt, and Italy.

Organized by the Postgraduate Program in Tropical Marine Sciences at the Marine Sciences Institute (LABOMAR) of the Federal University of Ceará (UFC), the event focused on the critical theme "Ecosystems stress due to climate change: actual impacts and future concerns."

Coordinated by Professor Sergio Rossi from Labomar - UFC, the meeting underscored UFC's commitment to climate research and environmental awareness. "This edition was crucial for promoting knowledge exchange and understanding the profound impacts of climate change on marine ecosystems," Rossi emphasized.

As in previous editions, the event received support from the AIR Centre, reflecting their ongoing collaboration under an existing memorandum of understanding.

By bringing together international experts and researchers, INSPIRE 2024 provided a platform for critical discussions on marine ecosystem challenges and potential mitigation strategies in the face of global climate change.
