Side-event of the All-Atlantic Ocean Research Alliance 2022 Forum: Workshop AA-COASTNET

The All Atlantic COASTal observing and technology NETwork (AA-COASTNET) is a network implemented by the AANChOR Joint Action AA-MARINET (All-Atlantic Marine Research Infrastructure Network), with the aim to establish a network dedicated to Marine Coastal Observation with countries bordering the Atlantic Ocean.
The workshop on June 7th, as part of the will address the identified topics that are of prime interest to accomplish AA-COASTNET Plan to emulate an All Atlantic synergy for coastal observation. The workshop will be organized in two main sessions:
  1. First session: Presentation of the advances of each coastal observation network with respect to AA-COASTNET objectives and planned steps;
  2. Second session: Discussion, wrap-up, and next steps.

Meeting with the Hon Consul‑General of the Kingdom of Tonga strengthens dialogue on ocean science and climate cooperation

On 2 July, the AIR Centre hosted a meeting at its Lisbon office with the Comendador Anthony Bailey, Honourable Consul-General of His Majesty The King of Tonga to the Portuguese Republic. The discussion brought together AIR Centre Executive Director Miguel Miranda, Deputy Executive Director Mafalda Carapuço, and researcher Ana Faria, marking the beginning of a promising dialogue between the two nations.
